Are The Rolling Stones Planning a 2014 Tour?

The Rolling Stones may be back on the road sooner than most people thought. The Sun reports that guitarist Ronnie Wood has said that the group is preparing for a 2014 world tour, though a band spokesman has told NME that there are “no firm plans yet.”

The Rolling Stones wrapped up their 50 and Counting Tour this summer with performances at London’s Hyde Park. The outing also saw the legendary rockers headline Glastonbury, as well as perform with various pop stars and guitar virtuosos at many of their stops.

Maybe they could tour the southeast this time (and drop the ticket prices and cut the Katy Perry, Keith Urban, et al. crap). Until then I’ll just be glad I saw them five times between 1981 and 1999.

I second that motion…lower the tix prices!

The 2012-2013 stones shows were the best. why lower ticket prices? they were sold out on the last tour! the stones have had special guests since the steel wheels tour, and they always get stars that are currenty significant. As a veteran of over 200 GRATEFUL DEAD shows, I can say the stones still rock and are the greatest band on earth, furthur/phil/ratdog- not so much. do yourselves a favor- skip a few stringcheese-umphreys-dmb shows, pony up buy a ticket and see the greatest show left on earth. in life you get what you pay for, better things just cost more- deal with it.

Would love to see them…sure they are worth it…but will never drop that kind of cash for a band…catch you on youtube! Rock on Mick and the boys!

Uncle D October 15, 2013, 07:13:39

Yeah, drop all the crappy guests and get some real musicians like Warren Haynes that actually know and understand the music and then I’ll pony up the cash…..@Cosmic Charlie you can’t tell me (after 200 Dead shows) watching Taylor Swift perform anything, anywhere, with anyone would even compare to any Dead Family show. Maybe you had too much, too fast? Agree the Stones are badass as ever, but c’mon, “currently significant” to your 12 year old daughter does not mean it’s worth $200+.

Have to agree with majority of the comments here, and I love The Stones. Yea- the boys still Rock, but the tick prices on that last tour were just too much. Was lucky enough to see one of the early shows in NJ and it was good for sure, but Sheesh! We had guest John Mayer for Respectable the night we went- which was very good, but must say some of the other guests along the way were borderline at best (Taylor Swift- what?)
And the shows didn’t all sell out- hell you could have bought a ticket for some of the 1st shows in LA in the first 20 rows (via Ticketmaster) the day before the show- you just had to cough up $750/ticket! (plus fees). I also have to politely disagree with Vet Cosmic Charlie, Furthur or The Allman Brothers Band kick the shit out of The Stones- and at bargain. And neither band ever quits after just 1 hour and 50 minutes….........

A Stones show is the greatest place in the world to be on that particular night. Seen them several times and it ALWAYS ROCKS! No better catalog of songs exists anywhere.

PJS October 18, 2013, 17:47:28

I dropped $200+ for tickets to see them and it ranks as the best money I’ve spent in at least two decades. Can’t wait for a return trip…
