Furthur drummer Joe Russo and Railroad Earth bassist Andrew Altman will perform with American Babies at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl this evening during the third night of their Monday residency at the venue. Russo, American Babies’ founding drummer, has shared the stage with Babies frontman Tom Hamilton in numerous projects, including Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, The Duo, Younger Brother, Electron and an all-star Levon Helm tribute.

In a Facebook post, Russo explains:

I’m playing with American Babies tonight at Brooklyn Bowl!! We’re gonna cover (literally) a lot of ground. Tommy and have shared a lot of songs together over the years AmBabes, Grateful Dead, Younger Brother, The Band, Brothers Past, yada yada….. Gonna knock the dust off a bunch this evening The fantastic Andrew Altman from Railroad Earth will be joining us on Bass!!! Come check it out! Woot!

American Babies’ past residency themes have included a tribute to The Allman Brothers Band as well as a night full of Jerry Garcia Band music featuring Jon Gutwillig of The Disco Biscuits. Tickets to tonight’s show are still available for $8.
