The Black Crowes wrapped up their well-received four night run at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre last night with another set full of surprise covers and acoustic jams. Last night saw a particularly rare set of covers, including Pink Floyd’s “The Gnome” and “Chapter 24” from Floyd’s 1967 album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. In addition, the band also debuted some first time covers, including The Byrds’ “I Am A Pilgrim,” Mississippi Sheik’s “Sitting on Top of the World” and Van Morrison’s “Crazy Face.”

Jackie Greene and Rich Robinson traded off solo performances of their own material, with Greene debuting “Gone Wanderin’” and Robinson performing “All Along the Way” for the first time as well. Larry Campbell, Sam Bush and Otto Hauser also sat in once again, as they have throughout the run. Throughout The Crowes’ acoustic run, they were joined by the likes of Eric Krasno, Joe Russo and Neal Casal as well.

The band will perform four electric shows at NYC’s Terminal 5 beginning October 24. Ray Wylie Hubbard, Blind Boys of Alabama, Dr. John & The Nite Trippers and Maceo Parker will add support throughout the run. The Crowes’ tour will close with a show at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on December 14. The band has announced that its members will then take some time to focus on their solo projects.
