Fleetwood Mac founding member John McVie has been diagnosed with cancer, according to the band’s Facebook page. Consequently, the band also announced it would be canceling their upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand next month, as McVie begins treatment for cancer during that time. The type of cancer has not yet been revealed.

McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1967 and served as primary bassist ever since. McVie was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, along with the rest of Fleetwood Mac.

The band took to Facebook to explain the situation:

We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates. We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best.
