Beck has signed to Capitol Records after nearly 20 years with Geffen Records. The new partnership is set to spawn a brand new album in February of next year. The forthcoming release, titled Morning Phase, will be the artist’s first full-length album of all new material since 2008’s critically acclaimed Modern Guilt.

Capitol Records is describing Morning Phase as a companion piece of sorts to Beck’s 2002 classic Sea Change, especially since it will feature many of the same musicians who played on that record.

Morning Phase caps off a busy creative year for Beck which included a date with Bob Dylan and My Morning Jacket on their AmericanaramA tour and the release of 2012’s Song Reader, a book of elaborately packaged and illustrated sheet music for 20 new Beck originals.
