Freekbass and The Bump Assembly Project have launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their new album. The record will be produced by Duane Lundy (My Morning Jacket/ Ben Sollee), with the legendary Bootsy Collins working as executive producer. It will also feature Pariament-Funkadelic keyboardist Razor Sharpe Johnson, along with various guest musicians such as Skerik.

All of the funds from the campaign will go toward creating and promoting the album, which Freekbass hopes will have the warm, analogue sound of the old school records that he fell in love with as a kid. The band started recording in August, and a rough snippet of one of the sessions can be heard here.

Those that contribute to the campaign, which is attempting to raise $7,000, will be able to receive a number of goodies, including signed CDs, t-shirts, show tickets, bass lessons, a Freekbass concert at their house, a CD release party at their house and much more.
