Dave Grohl will produce the Zac Brown Band’s next album. Consequence of Sound is reporting that the Nirvana drummer/Foo Fighters frontman has been been recruited by the band to work on their new record, which will be released through ZBB’s own Southern Ground label. The news comes one day after the Country Music Awards, which saw Grohl and Oteil Burbridge sit in for the live debut of the band’s new track “Day For the Dead.”

The Zac Brown Band have never shied away from interesting collaborations. The group have played with country superstars like Kenny Chesney and Kenny Rogers to jamband icons like John Bell and Warren Haynes. Brown and some of his bandmates even joined the String Cheese Incident for a special Zac Brown Incident at the inaugural Lockn’ Festival this past September.
