Keller Williams, Michael Kang, Keith Moseley, Jeff Austin, Tim & Nicki Bluhm to Cover Grateful Dead for Rex Foudation

Keller Williams will cover the Grateful Dead with Nicki and Tim Bluhm, Keith Moseley, Michael Kang, Jeff Austin and other special guests for Nightfall of Diamonds: A Benefit for the Rex Foundation. The event is set to take place on Saturday, December 7 at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Tickets to the concert are now on sale, though partially tax-deductible tickets to the concert and pre-show reception can be purchased as well.

Williams released Keys: A Collection of Grateful Dead Covers to Benefit the Rex Foundation earlier this year, with 100% of the proceeds from the album going to the organization.

The Rex Foundation is a charitable non-profit that was founded by members of the Grateful Dead and friends in 1983. According to their Mission Statement, the organization aims to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support to critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere.

I hope they release a SBD of the show so those of us that can’t make it can still hear it & support the Rex Foundation at the same time by purchasing it!!

For 75 bucks, they should guarantee both Keller and Michael Kang will be wearing a muzzle and can’t squeal out these tunes with their pre-pubesent voices and just let the bluhms and jeff austin handle all the singing….. only then will there be any potential for a good concert here…... and ridonkulously taxed VIP seating on the floor of the Fillmore?!!!! Really know how to crap all over the grateful dead vibe, relix…... 2 sets of Keller…. before another set of Keller? This guy is such a clown… Its a shame…. he actually plays the acoustic guitar pretty damned well too…..

I say Jeff should screw this gig and take that “day off’ from baby duties and play with YMSB on at least one of the winter dates! “This guy is such a clown… Its a shame…. he actually plays the acoustic guitar pretty damned well too…..”
—- interesting comment given that you admit he is a good guitar player, but hate on him for being a clown? I bet you get off on Phish right, cause none of them are nasty musicians clowning around?

“Really know how to crap all over the grateful dead vibe, relix” It’s the Rex Foundation, not Relix. And tickets are expensive because its a CHARITY event

Loved the Grateful Grass album Keller made with Jeff and Keith. Sure this will be great too. Keller rules, that is all.

Steve B, I’m actually all about the quartet from Vermont. No shame in that… What do they have to do with this post though?... Yeah. I said Keller is a good acoustic guitar player. Doesn’t mean he Isn’t obnoxious as fuck with his mouth flugel and stupid sound effects and queer voice. He should just play his 12 string and not say anything and not fuck with a looping machine and his music could be tolerable. Every project he is in, though, has to be “the Keller show.” Meaning he never sits back and backs up other musicians. He’s an attention hog. . Excuse me about my typo on Rex and relix…. They are two letters apart and it was 3 in the morn when I wrote that.. Totally different deal and understand this…. Have fun with your charity priced tickets….. I’m going to be lighting piles of food on fire in front of an orphanage that night….

I just don’t understand where your inconsistency comes from. I’m not a fan of his either but enough with the trashing….Just say you don’t really care for what he does… that would suffice How do you say that one person is “obnoxious as fuck with his mouth flugel and stupid sound effects and queer voice”, while you would probably tear someone a new asshole that had something negative to say about another band that plays vacuum cleaners, electric drills and jumps on trampolines… all of which I personally love.

This is a great line-up and will be a steller show. Throw in some Jenny and Larry Keel and the stars would align for sure. Already have plans for Jimmy,Warren and Phil so unfortunately cannot go. Thank for the good cause and always support the Rex .
