Aaron Freeman Offers Up Final Recordings of Gene Ween

Aaron Freeman, better known as Gene Ween, will offer up Gener’s Gone: The Final Demo Recordings of Gene Ween as a digital album available for purchase and download right now. After disbanding the popular Pennsylvania rock outfit, Freeman continued to write, performing acoustic shows as well as collaborating with other artists.

These recordings mark the final writings and music of Gene Ween, as Freeman struggles through a personal financial situation. The explanation on the website (below) offers a glimpse into Freeman’s personal life as well as a potential cliffhanger that Freeman might not be done releasing music.

Gener’s Gone: The Final Demo Recordings of Gene Ween Tracklist:

The Champion
Nature Man
Baby Don’t Be Afraid
Deep Calm
Stay With Me Daddy
Gener’s Gone

After 20+ years of near-fatal drug & alcohol abuse (thankfully
culminating with intensive but successful rehab), AARON FREEMAN (aka Gene Ween) was left in a dire financial situation. All proceeds will go directly to Aaron, as he continues down the path toward creative freedom and personal health.

These demos represent the final writings and music of Gene Ween, before he departed and the inner FREEMAN emerged. On that note, we have received a two word personal statement from Aaron: “stay tuned.”

Very glad to hear that Aaron has cleaned up. It was a very rough time for awhile. Doesn’t look good for Ween reuniting. It might be impossible for him to go back to that place after he’s shed his skin.Sad for Ween fans but worth it if he is able to stay clean. I hope if they ever do reunite, it’s not just for money.

Why not reunite for money? They performed for cheeseburgers and various other evils. Money is a healthy legetimate evil…play the music you/we love to earn your way in life. If you love what you do then doing it for money is just a bonus. Wierd that the man has seemingly convinced himself that the spirit of ween came from the drugs and not that the drugs were a tool used to create the music. Once art is born it exiists. The labor of its origin is complete. Its no longer necessary to involve the tools. Just play the fuuckin musiic Deaner! Remember the pumkins!
