David Byrne and the original cast of Here Lies Love will hold a special concert for the Philippines at Terminal 5 on November 25. After the devastation of Super Typhoon Haiyan, which took the lives of more than 4,000 in the Philippines, musicians and celebrities alike have organized events to help raise aid. For this show, all proceeds will go towards Doctors Without Borders.

Directed by Alex Timbers, the theatrical production of Here Lies Love premiered at The Public Theater in New York in April. The production won an Outer Critics Circle Award, an Obie Award, Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Music, Lighting Design, and Projection Design, and two Theatre World Awards. The benefit show will feature the cast performing all songs from the acclaimed musical in the original order.

It has been reported that the death toll in the Philippines could reach 10,000. Super Typhoon Haiyan devastated small towns with winds up to 147mph and gusts up to 170mph. By those measurements, Haiyan would be comparable to a strong Category 4 hurricane in the U.S.

Tickets to Here Lies Love: The Concert for the Philippines are available on Terminal 5’s website.
