David Gilmour Working on Solo Album

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour is reportedly working on an upcoming solo album. Graham Nash told program Needle Time that he’s about to head overseas with Crosby, Stills and Nash partner David Crosby to join Gilmour in the studio.

Nash and Crosby have a history with Gilmour, as both members appeared on the title track to Gilmour’s 2006 On an Island. All three musicians contributed work to The Orb’s 2010 album, Metallic Spheres.

I’m delighted that David is recording again. I still can’t get enough of Live in Gdansk and Remember That Night: Live at the Royal Albert Hall from the On An Island tour. Sadly, no Rick Wright this time around. I’m so glad Rick toured with him for On An Island, so we could see those two together one last time. Love Metallic Spheres too – some of it sounds like early Floyd.
