Strangefolk drummer Luke Smith confirmed to Jambands.com that the band has plans to record a new album. While Smith didn’t specify a release date, he mentioned that the group’s performances this year since their reunion have sparked new ideas. “[In October of 2000] This band was broken. And it just feels incredible to be able to tell you that we’re alive,” Smith said.

The original Strangefolk quartet hasn’t put out a studio album since 2000’s A Great Long While. Now, as Smith says, the band finds itself in a better place that will breed new music. “We’re going to record another record and we’re talking about new things and we’re just talking which is a big deal,” Smith explains. “We love the music and as long as we love the music it’s alive.”
