Pixies bassist Kim Shattuck revealed that she has been fired by the band. Shattuck made the announce via Facebook, writing:

Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today. Amazing experience. Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone.

Shattuck—who also plays with the Muffs—had replaced longtime Pixies bassist Kim Deal after she left the band earlier this year. Pixies are now gearing up for an extensive 2014 tour—by far their longest since their 2004 reunion run.
