Blues Traveler and Strangefolk Collaborate at Capitol Theatre

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Blues Traveler headlined two nights at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre. Strangefolk, who started a Thanksgiving tradition at the Cap last year, kicked off both shows with an extended set. Harkening back to their days at the Wetlands Preserve, members of both bands shared the stage each night.

The first sit-in came during Blues Traveler’s headlining set on November 29, when Strangefolk’s Jon Trafton joined the group. On November 30, both Trafton and Reid Genauer joined Blues Traveler for a cover of Stephen Stills’ “Love the One You’re With.” Afterward, Strangefolk performed a late-night show at the theater’s smaller Garcia’s space, and Blues Traveler frontman John Popper joined the group for a portion of their set.

Both bands have no further shows scheduled for the rest of 2013. Reid Genauer will appear at Capitol Theatre in February as the venue celebrates the 25th anniversary of the historic Wetlands Preserve.
