Charm City Folk and Bluegrass Festival will take place in Baltimore, MD’s Druid Hill Park on April 26, 2014. The initial lineup includes the likes of Grammy award-winning dobro virtuoso Jerry Douglas along with young mandolin player Sierra Hull, bluegrass guitarist Audie Blaylock and Redline as well as father-and-son duo Ken and Brad Kolodner. More artists are expected to be announced.
For each ticket sold, $2 will be donated to the Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens to support horticulture education programs. Early bird tickets are on sale now for $55 for general admission and $120 for VIP. The prices increase to $65 and $150 respectively by February 1.
A late night bluegrass jam after-party, a separate ticketed event, will be held at The 8×10 in Federal Hill after the event. More details on that show are expected to be announced soon. Additionally, a battle of the bands will also be held at The 8×10, with the winner earning an opening spot at the festival. Round one takes place January 17, round two on January 24 and the finals on March 7.
