Singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale released Black Roses, his 23rd studio album and third in the last two years. Produced by North Mississippi Allstars’ Luther Dickinson, the album consists of a collection of new songs by Robert Hunter and Jim Lauderdale. Black Roses also features Luther as well as Cody Dickinson, Spooner Oldham, David Hood, Amy Lavere and Shannon McNally, among others.

The album is now on sale at Jim Lauderdale’s website.

On the album, Dickinson said, “It was a thrill working with Jim as he became a rocknroll roots music madman, a hot rod driving, hillbilly blues preacher of chaos!” “Robert Hunter’s use of the roots music vernacular, the oral history of American music is masterful, comparable only to Dylan. It is an honor to work with an American great, our finest poet.”
