moe. kicked off their two night run at Denver’s Ogden Theatre with a two-set show on Friday night that saw the band dig into “Oh, Hanukah” from their Season Greetings from moe. record. The tune was last performed on December 25, 2005, or 643 shows.
Rob, Chuck and Al stopped by concert photographer Jay Blakesberg’s book release party on December 7 to perform a short acoustic set. Al Schnier wrote the forward in JAM. The trio moved through the Grateful Dead’s “Deep Elem Blues,” Little Feat’s “Willin’” and their original “It.”
The show that evening featured a sit-in from guitarist Taylor Frederick. Frederick is another winner of the “I Wanna Be in moe.” contest the group held prior to their New Year’s Eve run at The Palladium in Worcester. Taylor sat-in on “Blue Jeans Pizza” in Denver and played on “Plane Crash” during the December 28 show. moe. also dug into more holiday material, playing “We’re a Couple of Misfits” from 1964’s Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
