Mike Gordon has announced a new solo album, as well as a number of 2014 tour dates. Gordon’s new LP, Overstep, will be released on Februry 25, 2014 via ATO Records. The Phish bassist enlisted longtime collaborator and guitarist Scott Murawski to share songwriting duties for the album, which also features appearances by a few new musicians, including drummer Matt Chamberlain. Gordon also handed over production duties for the first time in his solo career, working with Paul Q. Kolderie (Radiohead, Uncle Tupelo, Pixies). Fans can now stream the first track from Overstep, “Ether” on Gordon’s website, and album pre-order info will be revealed shortly.

Gordon has also announced a number of tour dates in support of his new release. Gordon and his band—Gordon (bass), Scott Murawski (guitar), Todd Isler (drums), Tom Cleary (keyboards) and Craig Myers (percussion)—will get started on February 28 at the Westcott Theatre in Syracuse, NY before making their way across much of the country. For the new shows, the band will be “augmented by hints of secret synesthetic mad scientist gadgetry on and around the stage.” A limited number of pre-sale tickets are available now, and the public onsale will begin on Friday, December 13 at 10am ET.
