Marco Benevento Confirms Fall Residency at Albany’s Red Square, New Album Details

Marco Benevento will host a weekly residency at Red Square in Albany in the Fall on 2014. Benevento made the announcement during his December 7 show at the venue, saying that the residency would coincide with the release of his forthcoming album, which he will be recording in March. That show also featured an opening performance by WOLF!, which say Marco Benevento/former Ween bassist Dave Drewitz subbing for Jon Shaw, who is currently on the road with Cass McCombs.

According to a recent interview with Upstate Live, Benevento will begin recording his new album in March with engineer (and The Shins keyboardist) Richard Swift. He will be joined by his current band—Drewitz and drummer Andy Borger—for the album.

In related news, Benevento recently confirmed that he will be joining the Midnight Ramble Band for a special New Year’s Eve Ramble at Levon Helm Studios on December 31.
