The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne has announced that he will embark on what he’s billed the “Record Store Tour,” during which he will be meeting and greeting fans and signing copies of the Lips’ first-ever releases, The Flaming Lips 1st EP and The Flaming Lips 2nd Cassette Demo.

Coyne plans to sell an extremely limited edition version of the first EP, which will be housed with a hand-crafted solid chocolate skull, which the eccentric frontman assures fans is life-sized and anatomically correct. Each skull will contain a special golden coin that is redeemable as admission to any Flaming Lips headlining show in the world.

In other news, the singer posted a photo of himself to his Instagram account late last night with a caption announcing the band’s New Year’s Eve plans. The Oklahoma band is currently planning to perform two full sets for the holiday; the first will be a career-spanning set to celebrate thirty years of the Flaming Lips; the second is slated to be a set of all John Lennon Beatles songs. Coyne has since posted videos of the band rehearsing Lennon numbers such as “Tomorrow Never Knows,” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “Come Together.”
