Marco Benevento has confirmed both a winter tour and some additional information regarding his next studio album. After a series of special holiday shows—including appearances with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (12/27), Grace Potter & The Nocturnals drummer Matt Burr’s Dark Side of the Mountain (12/29) and The Midnight Ramble Band (12/31)—the keyboardist will spend much of 2014 on the both with his band featuring Dave Dreiwitz (Ween) and Andrew Borger (Tom Waits). Their 2014 Winter tour includes a number of Northeast dates, as well as a trek through the southeast in February that stops at The Grey Eagle in Asheville, NC, Terminal West in Atlanta, GA and Aura Music and Arts Festival in Live Oak, FL. As winter turns to spring, Benevento heads to the West Coast for six nights, highlights for which include headline performances at The Independent in San Francisco and Doug Fir Lounge in Portland.

Benevento will return to the studio in March with producer Richard Swift. In addition to his role as The Shins’ keyboardist, Swift recently produced breakthrough albums by Foxygen and Tennis. Swift plans to record a collection of new Benevento songs, including some vocal tunes.
