Multi-instrumentalist/composer/producer Aaron Comess has announced the release of two jazz records in 2014. Both albums are set to evolve from two upcoming New York City shows.

The first show will take place at The Blue Note on December 27. Comess will be joined by band members Teddy Kumpel (guitar) and Richard Hammond (electric bass), both of whom appeared on his 2011 release, Beautiful Mistake. The trio are mid-way through recording a new instrumental album of Comess’ original compositions and are likely to premiere a track or two at the upcoming concert, which marks Comess’ first appearance at the legendary Blue Note.

The second performance will take place at Smoke Jazz on January 29, and will feature Hammond and Kumpel, along with Keith Loftis (saxophone) and Barney McAll (B3). Additional details regarding the upcoming releases will be revealed in the months ahead.
