Psychedelic freak-folk group Akron/Family will take most of 2014 off while the band’s members focus on a variety of other projects. As previously reported, Akron/Family’s Seth Olinksy recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to support his new
Lightning Records.

“Akron/Family is actually going to take a break,” Olinsky told Relix and Jambands.com. “We’ve been hitting hard making ten records in the past ten years and toured insanely. We just got back from Japan, which was our third trip. It was amazing. Touring Japan is hard to describe, it’s so fun. But we’re actually going to take next year off. We’ve taken little periods off in last ten years between recording and touring, but some side project comes up or some show comes up. So we decided to take a year off to explore side projects.”

Miles Seaton is in the middle of finishing a solo record while Dana Janssen will focus on his Dana Buoy side-project. The trio released Sub Verses in 2013. Click here. for more info on Lightning Records’ Kickstarter campaign.
