Relix and Jambands.com publisher Peter Shapiro has officially confirmed that Brooklyn Bowl will establish a London outpost at The O2. The 800-person venue will open on January 16 with three nights of performances by the Brooklyn Bowl All-Stars. The collective will feature some of musicians who have performed at Brooklyn Bowl most often since the venue opened in 2009, including members of Antibalas, Lettuce and Soulive. “We wanted to bring the Brooklyn Bowl vibe to London,” Shapiro explains, “not just bring Brooklyn Bowl to London.”

Brooklyn Bowl London will feature 12 lanes of bowling—three of which are elevated in a private party area with its own bar—and food by the famed Bromberg Bros. Blue Ribbon Restaurants.

The London venue will launch with a party to coincide with a basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks, as both teams will travel to London and take the court at the O2 on January 16.

“When thinking of another city that’s as influential on global culture as New York, there’s only one that immediately stands out,” Shapiro adds, “and that, of course, is London. We’re thrilled to be bringing the Bowl’s unique and multi-pronged vibe to what really is the most important city in the world.”

The venue will mark the first time Blue Ribbon has operated outside of the US, bringing its signature menu including Oyster Po’ Bos, Cajun Catfish, French Bread Pizzas, Egg Shooters, and of course their world-renowned Fried Chicken. In addition, the bar will feature beers from the local Meantime Brewing Company.

“The food we cook at the Bowl is all about great times and great tastes. We were able to bring our entire menu from Brooklyn and find local suppliers to source the freshest ingredients,” added Blue Ribbon Co-Owner, and partner in Brooklyn Bowl, Bruce Bromberg.

Brooklyn Bowl is set to open a location in Las Vegas later this year.
