Red Hot Chili Peppers to Join Bruno Mars for Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Los Angeles Times has revealed that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to join Bruno Mars on stage during his Super Bowl Halftime show. According to the Times, Mars is scheduled to officially announce that he has invited the group to appear at the big game during Fox’s coverage of tonight’s New Orleans Saints-Seattle Seahawks playoff game.

While the combination is certainly very odd, it is likely that the NFL is attempting to appeal to a more varied demographic. As of now, no details about the collaboration have been announced.

In related news, the Chili Peppers are slated to perform on February 1—the eve of the big game – at The Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY.

I’ve been a fan since Mother’s Milk. Though they have declined recently they are still talented and iconic band. “Blood Sugar Sex Majik” is one of the greatest rock albums ever made in my book. That was a good 10 years into their career.

people just hate for the sake of hating. Truth most of us would give away our left nut to be in a successful band then be sitting at work reading about successful bands.

They formed as a band over 30 years ago. It would actually be more like 20 years before they started to go downhill. A lot more than most bands can say.

I think Stadium Arcadium was an all right album, especially considering it had like 40 songs. Not sure how old that is at this point…. 5 years ago?

All you RHCP non fans, you must realize that whether it’s
20 years or 30 years… Any band that can make it through what they have in the music business is a good band!
