Golden Globes for Alex Ebert and U2
Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros frontman Alex Ebert picked up a Best Original Score Golden Globe last night for his work on 2013’s All Is Lost. The musician and songwriter wrote the music for the J.C. Chandor-directed film, which starred Robert Redford as a man lost at sea. Interestingly, Ebert was recognized by award-presenter Sean “P. Diddy” Combs,” who told the audience, “he was on a boat with me partying…” Ebert then responded with a story about Combs, saying the hip-hop mogul “came up from behind and unbuttoned my jacket, said ‘Let it flow!’.”
U2 also received a Golden Globe for their song “Ordinary Love” from the 2013 film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
