Lockn’ Festival Confirms Bob Weir & RatDog

Bob Weir and RatDog will perform on two nights at the second annual Lockn’ Festival at the Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, VA. The festival—which is set to take place September 4-7—has also confirmed appearances by The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh and Friends (two nights) and Widespread Panic (two nights).

Bob Weir and RatDog features Weir, Jeff Chimenti, Steve Kimock, Jay Lane, Robin Sylvester and Rob Wasserman. The group recently announced its first full tour since 2009, as well as a couple of summer festival dates. Weir also performed at last year’s inaugural Lockn’ Festival with Furthur, who are currently on hiatus.

The Lockn’ Festival debuted last year with performances by Furthur, Widespread Panic. The String Cheese Incident, The Black Crowes, Gov’t Mule, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Trey Anastasio Band, Punch Brothers, Warren Haynes Band, Jimmy Cliff, Keller and The Keels and more. Many of the acts played for two nights, and the event also featured a number of special collaborations including the Zac Brown Incident (Zac Brown and members of the Zac Brown Band with SCI), John Fogerty with Widespread Panic and an extended Trey Anastasio sit in with Furthur, among other exciting combinations.

General admission, VIP and Student tickets for the 2014 Lockn’ Festival are currently on sale.

@Rusty Definitely first year kinks, but I think they will have a much better handle on that stuff this year.

So, was this festival site as bad as some of the rumors I have heard. Considering going this year, but I am too old for the festies that aren’t managed well/put together well. I know the music was good last year, but how about the rest?

This fest is my new favorite! No the site is great. Beautiful and quaint. The production is even better. It’s seamless from show to show and you don’t have to miss anything. I’d definitely recommend VIP if you’re older like me. The meals were fantastic!!! Beer and wine are cheaper. Your camp is within sight of the stages and the VIP viewing section is right n front of the stage. Plus the bathrooms, showers etc. Food was the best: mexi night, pesto shrimp and rice, wings, sliders and plenty for veggies too. See u there!!!

Since Phil is already on the bill and the festival is known for creating cool sit-ins, is it possible that Phil and Steve Kimock finally break bread and make peace? It is the one piece of my musical family that is fractured and would love to see them play together again!

Ugh!
Why does Rat Dog have to ruin it?

Awesome fest last year. Will be great this year…two nights of Bobby! I am there. Don’t waste your breath spike, we don’t need you there anyway!

Saw Ratdog at Red Rocks a few years ago with Steve Kimock. They were awesome! Just ‘cause Bob can’t sing doesn’t mean the music sucks. Nice to see Wasserman on board also.
