Widespread Panic guitarist Jimmy Herring, a longtime friend of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, sat in with Tedeschi Trucks Band at St. Petersburg, FL’s Vinoy Park on Sunday. The show was part of the traveling Sunshine Blues Festival, and Herring’s current project The Ringers played before TTB. Herring emerged during Tedeschi Trucks Band’s set for a 19-plus minute version of “Love Has Something Else To Say” and returned to the stage during their encore for “All That I Need.”

Another familiar face visited Tedeschi Trucks Band during the Sunshine Blues Festival’s Saturday stop at Boca Raton, FL’s Mizner Park Amphitheatre, too. Area resident and Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks attended the show and bonded with is nephew backstage. As if to show that there is no hard feelings among the family following Derek Trucks’ announcement that he is leaving The Allman Brothers Band, a new images of the musicians hugging later surfaced through social media.

Tedeschi Trucks Band will perform at Chattanooga, TN’s Tivoli Theatre this evening.
