Kraftwerk Confirm 3-D Shows

Kraftwerk have announced a series of North American tour dates. The shows—billed as “An Evening with Kraftwerk: 3-D Concerts”—will come to Mexico City for three nights March 13-15 before heading to Los Angeles for four night a few days later. Those shows will be followed by three nights in Oakland, as well as stops in Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, New York City and Washington, DC. The tour will then wrap up at Moogfest in Asheville, NC April 24-25.

Additionally, the Los Angeles shows will be a bit of a special event. Kraftwerk will play two shows each night, with the group covering a different studio album during every performance. The covers will take place in chronological order, beginning with Autobahn and Radio-Activity (March 18), Trans Europe Express and The Man Machine (March 19), Computerworld and Technopop (March 20) and The Mix and Tour de France (March 21). Kraftwerk will also be doing a similar album retrospective in Vienna later in the year.

An Evening with Kraftwerk: 3-D Concerts will, unsurprisingly, feature a “perfectly synchronized audio-visual spectacle complete with pristine digital sound and breathtaking 3-D projections.” Fans can purchase pre-sale tickets to the NYC show via Brooklyn Vegan from 9am tomorrow till 10pm Thursday. Tickets for the newly announced shows will be available to the general pubic this Friday, January 24 at 10am.

Jambands??? WTF?? I like Kraftwerk and have seen them live, but in no way connect them with the “jamband” scene.

“Jambands??? WTF?? I like Kraftwerk and have seen them live, but in no way connect them with the “jamband” scene.” pioneers of using synths in a danceable way. i think alot of jambands get some influence from kraftwerk. not to mention the fact that kraftwerk loves to be/get weird. ego-less, full of tongue-in-cheek humor. sound familiar?
