Galactic have released a brand new song featuring Maggie Koerner and Revivalists frontman David Shaw, who also collaborated with the band for “Hey Na Na” from their last LP, 2012’s Carnivale Electricos. The new track is standalone single titled “Dolla Diva” that finds Galactic further exploring the afro-beat influenced jazz-funk of their last release. The track premiered today over at Consequence of Sound, though the singers have performed it with the band on a number of occasions.
As previously reported, Koerner is set to join Galactic for their upcoming tour, which kicks off at Turner Hall in Milwaukee on January 30. The band will then make their way across the country over the next two months before wrapping up the outing with a two-night run at The Fillmore in San Francisco on March 21 and 22. The New Orleans funk-jammers are also slated to play a hometown show at Jazz Fest on April 27, in addition to two gigs at Tipitina’s in early March.
