A wide range of New Orleans musicians will come together to raise money for Douglas Potter—a local bassist best known for his work with the bands of Al Hirt and Steamboat Willie—who was hospitalized and left in a coma after being brutally assaulted in the French Quarter on January 21. The event is set to take place on Wednesday, February 12 at the Howlin’ Wolf in New Orleans.

The benefit show, billed as Fiya Aid: Musicians Against Violence, will feature performances by The Trio with Johnny Vidacovich, George Porter Jr. and Ivan Neville, Glen David Andrews, Big Sam, Swamp Grease with Terence Higgins, Nigel Hall, Andrew Block, Pete Murano and Eric Vogel, Billy Iuso, Eddie Roberts and the NOLA Nights, Naughty Professor, Rockin Doopsie Jr., Pymp, Bouku Groove, Trumpet Black, Steamboat Willie, Gravy Flavored Kisses and more.

Tickets to benefit are on sale now. 100% of the proceeds will go to helping the Potter family cover Douglas’ medical expenses.
