Newport Folk

Last week we reported that the Newport Folk Festival had confirmed that Mavis Staples would be celebrating her 75th birthday with a Sunday performance at this year’s festival. Now, it looks the event has also added Nickel Creek, Houndmouth, Shovels & Rope, Jenny Lewis and Hurray for the Riff Raff to the bill. Many more artists will be added to the lineup over the next few weeks.

This year’s Newport Folk Festival will take place July 25-27 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI. Three-day passes and single day tickets are now on sale, though they typically sell out sooner rather than later.
