Around the Horn’s Tony Reali Joins Umphrey’s McGee in Maryland

Umphrey’s McGee got some help from ESPN’s Around the Horn host Tony Reali last night during their performance at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. The sports commentator and longtime UM fan joined in on percussion and organ at the end of the first set for a cover of Derek and The Dominos’ classic “Layla.” Last night’s show also saw guitarist Jake Cinninger take up percussion on “Divisions,” which was followed by a rendition of The Who’s “Baba O’Reily.”

Umphrey’s McGee will return to the stage on Thursday, February 20 when they kick off their three-night run at The Riviera Theatre in Chicago.

Here’s a look at last night’s setlist via our Box Scores page

Set I: Gurgle > Resolution > Conduit, 1348 > 2nd Self, Rocker Part 2, Liquid > Den, Layla*

Set II: Wappy Sprayberry > The Linear > Walletsworth, Push the Pig, The Fussy Dutchman, Divisions^, Baba O’Riley > 1348

Around the horn February 17, 2014, 11:11:44

That sounds like a game I was playing with my boys at NYE in Denver. That was more x rated though. They opened with Gurgle which is part of the around the horn game we play. Lot’s of double meanings for us Umphreaks in this post.
