The Mother Hips will release a new album titled Chronicle Man this Spring. The date for the release—a collection of 11 songs recorded between 1994 and 1997—has not yet been revealed. The band posted a statement about the new record on their Facebook page today that reads:

The Mother Hips are happy to announce that they will be releasing a new eleven song album named “Chronicle Man” in late Spring. The album is a collection of songs that were mixed from the original master 2-inch analog tapes that were rescued from from a Los Angeles basement in 2009. The material was recorded during an especially fiery period for the Hips between 1994 and 1997. The Mother Hips official archivist, Dave Schwartz and the Mother Hips searched through hours of unreleased material spanning 7 years and narrowed it down to these eleven lost gems.
