Umphrey’s McGee to Play Independence Day Weekend at Red Rocks

Umphrey’s McGee will continue their tradition of playing Red Rocks on July 4 Weekend this year with a show at the famed amphitheater on July 5, with the Independence Day festivities taking place nearby at Boulder Theater. Joining UM during the run will be The Motet as well as Moon Taxi. The Nashville rockers are currently on the road with UM.

General on-sale will take place February 28, with the umVIP packages and two-show ticket packages going on sale February 21. All ticketing info is available via Umphrey’s website. This will be the band’s fifth consecutive year celebrating “UMerica” with a show at Red Rocks.

In other Umphrey’s news, the band will offer three HD webcasts of their upcoming run at Chicago’s Riviera Theater via TourGigs. The band is currently on the road, with a West Coast run to follow the leg-closing hometown stand.

Last time UM played Red Rocks for the 4th weekend was in 2011.

Last time somebody thought Umphreys was putting out any reputable new material was 2008 to be fair. Will they add a UMonday show for some charity and give barely any of the money to the charity to supplement weak sales like they did for night one and night two of this last CO run? I bet with a three or four band bill and possible sitin by any guys from Cheese or Yonder will help make the Blue Oyster Club Bar scene of an Umphreys show possibly tolerable if no little boys try to get my digits when I am with my wife like on 12/28.
