Summer Camp Music Festival Confirms Late Night Shows

Summer Camp Music Festival confirmed their late night shows today. On May 23, Lotus & Beats Antique will play the Red Barn late night, with Gramatik and Lettuce pulling double duty on May 24. The closing night features the return of Umphrey’s McGee to the Red Barn. The co-hosts of the festival will perform an additional set for fans on top of the five sets previously scheduled. UM hasn’t performed in the Red Barn since 2010, where the group played before EOTO following their headlining set that evening.

Ticketing for the late night shows at Summer Camp are done separately, due to limited capacity. While there are plenty of late night events that do not require a ticket (Campfire Jams, Vibe Tent, Soulshine Tent, etc.), the late night shows do require a three-day general admission pass in addition to the late night ticket. All tickets, GA and late night, can be purchased here.

"SCAMP LATENIGHT LOL" February 19, 2014, 12:36:34

Can I get a hand for the people that run Summer Camp? They are amazing. They literally are the only festival that has Tickets then additional tickets for late nights that a majority of festival payers get shut out of. If the latenights are motivating you to go to Summer Camp, it is always funny when they sell out and you can’t get into a late night at a fest you drop a thousand bucks at the end of the day to go to. It’s one of the better business models I have seen. At Dartmouth you don’t even learn that when you get your MBA, so kudos to these guys.

Can’t camp next to your vehicle, no outside alcohol permitted, undercovers everywhere, and late night cost separate, quickly sells out and often offers mediocre acts. Lotus, Lettuce, and Umph will be great this year for the red barn but this festival is ultimately not worth attending.

I agree, it is a fuckin’ joke. I went to Scamp two years ago and had a great time. The lineup was stellar. However, charging people extra to see late night performances on small stages that are guaranteed to sell out just reeks of greed and profit over all. You could just as easily have the performances on any number of stages for all to see. I don’t get the reasoning….oh, wait…I do.

If above posts are true, then that may be the single dumbest sh!t I’ve ever heard. With all the good fests going on all over the country, why in god’s name would you attend this festival? Can you say cash grab???

UMGrab February 19, 2014, 14:42:39

Look who puts this fest on. Everything said is true. Its absurd to rip people off like this, but these guys only do this stuff to hit it big a few times a year with either some very stupid chirade where they make something up like flood relief and keep 90 percent of the money or UMbowl where you can like text with the band for like 100 bucks hippies. They don’t make money playing for a half full house on a Sunday even if they bring out Michael Wilbon naked.

How is this an UMGrab? moe. has hosted this festival longer than Umph has even been part of the lineup. Umph’s enlarged role at Bummercamp was largely due to popular demand. All you Umph haters really need to get a life.

Bummer, I’m sure you know that one of the main organizers of this event is and always has been Mr.Goldberg and the management of the band you mention. It’s literally UM’s largest revenue source of the whole year. They will even tell you that. Don’t have faith in people just because you like their art. It doesn’t mean they are operating business in a decent manner and not trying to get over on you. UMondays flood relief is all you need to look at. 15% to flood relief leaving a cool 60k for the band, but for charity right?

Alright to everyone bashing Summer Camp, let’s start by the alcohol policy. No, you can’t bring in alcohol in “technically” but it’s a piece of fuckin’ cake. Even if you buy your alcohol in the venue, you pay about 2-3 a beer but can take it anywhere you want. Let’s compare to say…Electric Forest…you can have all the beer you want, but when you’re in the venue all day by the stages, you may wish you were allowed your 2-3 dollar beers rather than being forced to buy 5-7 dollar beers. Once you’re in Summer Camp, you’re in. Take the beer you sneak in anywhere you want, no one will say a thing. And yeah there are just as many cops as any well established festival. Usually 100 or so arrests out of 20,000. Be smart. Moe Umph Yonder every year. Late nights are because of noise ordinances. If they were free it would be a fucking nightmare and all the bands that play late nights play during the rest of the festival as well. Also plenty of other late night music, usually bluegrass fireside jams. Quit your bitching and figure it out, Summer Camp is the shit and having a bad time or getting in trouble requires the lack of common sense.
