Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band honored a pair of Australian bands for the first time yesterday in Sydney. The group opened their show with their live debut of The Easybeats’ tune “Friday on My Mind,” one of the first hit songs to ever come out of the land down under. The Boss and Co. then put their spin on new wave legends INXS’ “Don’t Change” at the beginning of the first encore.

Last night’s show also featured a number of others like The Havalinas’ “High Hopes,” The Saints’ “Just Like Fire Would,” The Isley Brothers’ “Shout” and Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream,” as well as a complete performance of Springsteen’s classic 1978 album, Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Springsteen will continue his Australian tour with a show at the Hope Estate in Hunter Valley on Saturday.
