Antibalas guitar player Luke O’Malley will join The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday and Tuesday. As previously reported, members of Antibalas family band Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings recently joined the program as a part of The Roots’ horn section.

The Roots are no strangers to nightly sit-in’s from musicians, as Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford and even former New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain have sat in with the group during various Late Night shows. Now on The Tonight Show, O’Malley will serve as the first guest musician.

Following a premiere week which saw The Tonight Show earn its highest ratings in 20 years, this week will feature appearances from Reese Witherspoon, Fred Armisen (who serves as bandleader for Seth Meyers’ new late night show, debuting tonight), Paul Rudd, Shaquille O’Neal, Drew Barrymore, Adam Sandler and many more.

Among the highlights of Fallon’s first week as host were the star-studded cameos as well as U2’s scenic performance atop 30 Rock.
