Mike Gordon sat in with Bob Weir & RatDog last night during their show at the House of Blues in Boston. The Phish bassist, who was in town for an in-store performance at Newbury Comics in support of his new solo album Overstep, replaced Robin Sylvester in the beginning of set two for “Bird Song.”

Last night’s show also featured an appearance from Lou Reed drummer Tony “Thunder” Smith, who joined in for “Stuff” during the middle of the second set. In addition, the night saw the band’s first “Supplication” since March of 2008, as well as their second-ever takes on “My Brother Esau” and The Temptations’ “Shakey Ground.”

Bob Weir and RatDog will continue their tour tonight with another show at the House of Blues in Boston, while Mike Gordon’s Overstep officially hits shelves today as well.
