Former Wetlands Preserve bartender Christopher Lento has published a memoir—“The Bartender Diaries…A Life Fantastic”—detailing his experiences working behind the bar at venues across the country. Lento shared a few thoughts about the book, saying:

“The Bartender Diaries … A Life Fantastic!” is a reflective, honest and raw memoir of a young man who came to New York City with stars in his eyes, meets a carnival of characters along the way who teach him life lessons both hard and valuable. It’s simply a story about the life of an individual who lands a bartending gig at the Wetlands Preserve and his life was changed forever, by not living inside a “box” but by allowing all the peripherals out in the world to open his mind and his heart.

My time at the Wetlands was priceless and very important on so many levels. The main gift was the friendships and bonds made there accompanied by a daily and ever changing rock and roll soundtrack! The one thing that I touch on in the book is my first interaction with Larry Bloch … my interview and first sit down. It was mesmerizing. I know it’s the one moment that stands out for all of us (Peter Shapiro, Charlie Ryan, Jake Szufnarowski, Chris Zahn, and myself) and suffice to say we will never forget that moment when we all individually first met the man. I can confidently say speaking for them all … and the rest IS history. Larry brought us all together as you know and thanks to Peter Shapiro and the above mentioned the legacy lives on.

“The Bartender Diaries … A Life Fantastic!” is now available at xlibris.com and on Amazon.
