Eric Clapton Postpones Thailand Concert
Eric Clapton canceled his concert in Bangkok yesterday, as political violence in the Thai capital worsens. More than 20 people have been killed and over 700 injured in clashes between police and anti-government protesters in Thailand since the crisis began in November.
BEC-Tero Entertainment, the concert organizer handling Clapton’s Bangkok show, declined to explain the exact cause of the cancelation. Protestors in Bangkok have been rallying to oust Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and the ruling Pheu Thai Party for four months. In recent days, gun battles between parties have erupted on a nightly basis, prompting many to discuss the possibility of a civil war.
Civil unrest in the Ukraine also caused Depeche Mode to cancel their show scheduled in Kiev on February 26.
