Lockn’ Festival Adds Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson will join Bob Weir & RatDog, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Allman Brothers Band, The String Cheese Incident and Widespread Panic at this year’s Lockn’ Festival on September 4-7 in Arrington, VA. Nelson, 80, is currently on tour with his Family Band, with dates scheduled thru August. The guitarist’s latest album, 2013’s To All the Girls… peaked at number two on the charts in the United States.

More artists are expected to be added to the lineup next week. Tickets for the festival are currently on-sale via the Lockn’ website. Last year’s edition of Lockn’ boasted the likes of Furthur, Gov’t Mule, Grace Potter and The Zac Brown Incident featuring the country rocker collaborating with String Cheese Incident.

Love Willie, he’s a living outlaw legend, but his show doesn’t vary very much, if at all. I have seen his show about 3-4 times in the past 10 years and I don’t think the set list varied at all, same songs, same order. That being said, I still enjoyed each show immensely. Interesting to see if he throws some curve balls or sits in with anyone.

Oh Willie,as ever I read of your latest US gigs,I’m filled with overwhelming jealousy towards your millions of wonderful fans in the USA.
I still live in hope that the red headed stranger from Blue Rock,Montana will ride into Newcastle,UK one day!
