Phil Lesh and Friends will perform at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) on April 14 and 15. For this incarnation of the group, Lesh will take the stage with Warren Haynes, Jackie Greene, John Medeski and Joe Russo. It will be the first time that Phil Lesh has performed at the iconic Brooklyn multi-arts center.

On May 25, 1989 Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman took part in the ‘‘Don’t Bungle the Jungle” benefit at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Also participating that night were Madonna, the Del Fuegos and the B-52’s.

Tickets for the Lesh shows will go on sale March 7 at 10am EST (with music slated to start each night at 8:45 to help accommodate fans who will be attending Passover seders).

“We are thrilled to bring the music of the Grateful Dead to BAM,” explains Peter Shapiro, who is producing the event. “Warren is flying up from Wanee before he travels to Australia with Gov’t Mule just to be a part of this. Phil is doing the same between runs at the Cap and Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. These shows are going to be special.”

Lesh has already confirmed a number of other multi-night runs with different versions of Phil Lesh and Friends. The band will perform at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY April 2-5 and April 9-12 before heading to the Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas April 18-20. More information on those shows can be found here.

As previously reported, Phil Lesh recently signed a deal with Shapiro, the Capitol Theatre proprietor (and Jambands.com/Relix publisher) that includes up to 30 shows at the venue throughout the year, as well as multiple nights at various other venues owned by Shapiro, such as Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas and the Lockn’ Festival.
