Spin Doctors drummer Aaron Comess is releasing his third solo album, Blues for Use, on May 6. The jazz rock multi-instrumentalist created an album in the classical sense, formulating a cohesive collection of songs meant to be listened to at once. “I’ve always thought of records like a movie where each song is a new scene,” Comess said in a press release. The instrumental album features band members Teddy Kumpel on guitar and Richard Hammond on bass, both of whom appeared on Comess’ 2011 album Beautiful Mistake.

A record release concert will take place on May 9 at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. Tickets for the show are available here.
