Rock photographer Kirk West’s exhibit on The Allman Brothers Band is set to open this Friday to coincide with the group’s 14 show residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The photo gallery will be housed at Citrus Restaurant in NYC from March 7-29, and will be open daily from 5-10pm.

After a number of years as professional rock photographer, West went on the road with the Allman Brothers Band, earning the moniker of “tour mystic” and shooting ten Allman Brothers Band LP, CD and DVD covers. He eventually founded Hittin the Note magazine, created the Allman Brothers Band Museum and became the band’s official archivist. His upcoming exhibit will be the first time that he mounted a show primarily featuring photos of ABB and its members.

As previously reported, The Allman Brothers Band will play 14 shows at the Beacon Theatre from March 7-29. It will be the group’s last run at the iconic venue, as Gregg Allman has stated the band will stop touring after 2014, when guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks depart to focus on other projects.
