In celebration of Blue Note Records’ 75th anniversary, the Kennedy Center is hosting the Blue Note at 75 concert series from May 3-11. The event, which will feature performances from some of the iconic jazz label’s past and present musicians. will be hosted by Jason Moran, Blue Note Records artist and the Kennedy Center artistic advisor for jazz.

Main stage acts include jazz trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard and his quintet and hip-hop jazz pianist Robert Glasper and his Robert Glasper Experiment. There will also be a listening party with Moran and Blanchard discussing their all-time top Blue Note albums and tracks, as well as a signature closing night concert that will bring together an all-star lineup of artists, including NEA Jazz Masters Lou Donaldson, Bobby Hutcherson, Wayne Shorter, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and McCoy Tyner.

The celebration will also feature events such as lectures, film screenings and photo exhibits. These will be hosted by the Goethe-Insitut, the Library of Congress and the German Historical Institute.
