Jerry Garcia to Re-Issue Garcia For Record Store Day

Round Records will re-issue Garcia, Jerry Garcia’s 1972 solo debut, in conjunction with Record Store Day on April 19. The run will be limited to 1,500 copies and each 180-gram white vinyl will feature individually numbered foil-stamped packaging as well as an MP3 download card.

Garcia served as the guitarist’s highest charting solo release of his career, peaking at 35 on the Billboard 200. Garcia is joined by Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann as well as lyricist Robert Hunter. Garcia provides most of the instrumentation himself, contributing guitar, bass, piano, organ, samples and vocals.

Hate! Hate! Hate! Hate! The jamband community should have a haters ball. Phish panels by Phish fans about how Phish sucks. Phish haters explaining why they are not as good as in 97’. Phil and Bob haters complaining they plays covers. Umph haters claiming the band’s fanbase is outwardly and rudely homosexual. SCI haters listing legitimate and reasonable points why that band sucks. Tribe haters complaining about the slowed-down, spaced-out sound and absence of Murph. Bonnaroo haters saying over and over again, “You clearly were not there in 2002.” It really could be an amazing event. I would attend and could sponsor some panels, possibly vote for the biggest hater.
