Take Me to the River Music Showcase at SXSW to Feature Jerry Harrison, North Mississippi Allstars and More
The Outdoor Stage at Butler Park in Austin will play host to the Take Me to the River music showcase featuring Memphis soul legends collaborating with contemporary artists. The initial lineup includes the likes of William Bell, Otis Clay, Syl Johnson, Booker T. Jones and many more.
Hi Rhythm, the studio band who recorded numerous albums with the likes of Al Green and Ann Peebles, will serve as house band for the night. Appearances by Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), North Mississippi All-Stars, Charlie Musslewhite, Bobby Rush, Snoop Dogg, soul singer Big Baby, Al Kapone, Frayser Boy, P-Nut and the Royal Horns of Memphis.
The event will begin at 2:45 P.M. and will be followed by performances from Lion Babe, The Cool Kids and finally Childish Gambino at 8 P.M. Those attendees with a Music or Platinum Badge along with a Music Festival Wristband or Artist Wristband will have access to this showcase.
