WAR will release their first new studio album in 20 years, Evolutionary, on May 13 via Far Out Records/UMe. The new release, which features guest appearances by Cheech & Chong, Tower of Power, Joe Walsh, Malik Yusef and the USC Marching Band, will be available in a two-CD package that also includes a copy of WAR’s Greatest Hits.

Evolutionary was recorded at Total Access Studios in Redondo, CA with founding member/vocalist Lonni Jordan, as well as percussionist Marcos Reyes, guitarist Stuart Ziff, bassist Francisco “Pancho” Tomaselli, drummer Sal Rodriguez, saxophonist/flautist David Urquidi and harmonica player Stanley Behrens. The new album includes the autobiographical single, “That L.A. Sunshine” featuring Cheech & Chong (the comedy duo memorably utilized “Low Rider” in their debut film Up In Smoke ).

In addition to the album, the band have also announced a number of tour dates, including a few co-headlining shows with Cheech & Chong. A full list of the band’s upcoming tour dates, as well as the Evolutionary tracklist can be found below.
