Fat Mama will play a reunion show at New York’s Bowery Electric this Friday, March 21. The Colorado-bred fusion group is best known for launching the careers of Joe Russo (Furthur), Erik Deutsch (Charlie Hunter) and Kevin Kendrick (A BIG YES and a small no). The group formally disbanded in 2000 but has reunited on occasion since 2006 for one-off gigs.

Of note, they played interlocking sets with old friends ulu at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl in 2011 as part of the Wetlands Class of ’96 reunion show. A BIG YES and a small no—Kendrick’s project which usually draws in additional members of Fat Mama—and Surface To Air will open the night. Fat Mama’s classic lineup also includes Brett Joseph, Jon Gray, Jonti Siman and Marvin Garrett.

Tickets are available via Bowery Electric’s website.
